BETTER PLACEMENT: Children in state custody often live in hotels supervised by a third party.

RECORD OF SERVICE
Ashley McKnight is the proud granddaughter of sharecroppers. She was born into a military family and learned early the values of hard work, service, discipline, and commitment. Those values have guided her life’s work.
As a high school student, she worked as a volunteer on a Mississippi House of Representative campaign. Ashley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Mississippi Honors College and cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law. During law school, she interned with a former judge and practicing attorney where she researched and drafted an appellate brief that successfully reversed and rendered a chancellor’s decision before the Mississippi Court of Appeals.
After gaining experience as a paralegal and then as an associate attorney, Ashley founded The McKnight Law Firm, PLLC where she represents families navigating the complexities of Chancery Court. When appointed as Guardian Ad Litem in cases of abuse and neglect, she investigates with compassion and diligence. And she serves with honor as Guardian Ad Litem in adoption cases. As a Friends of Court Advocate, she works directly with families in custody cases for safety, stability, and a fair outcome. She is also a Private Attorney Involvement for the Mississippi Center for Legal Services that aids families who can not afford an attorney.
A loyal church member in Harrison County, Ashley is grounded in traditional principles and values. Having been raised in Harrison County, she remains an active member of the community where she lives and works today. Ashley stands ready, qualified, and competent to serve as Harrison County Court Judge Place 3, sitting as Youth Court Judge.
